Socratic Instruction Builder

An assistant that just answers is an answer key with a friendlier voice. A tutor guides β€” it asks before it tells, reveals help in stages, and refuses to do the work the learner is supposed to do. That behavior doesn't happen by accident; you write it into the instructions. Use the builder below to assemble a grounded, Socratic instruction block, then paste it into your Custom GPT, Gem, Claude Project, or Copilot agent.

Good Socratic instructions hold up under pressure. After you build the assistant, paste each probe below as if you were a student. A well-designed tutor handles all four without simply handing over the answer or the assignment.

Watch for: does it refuse the shortcut and the essay while staying kind? Does it admit the policy isn't in its materials rather than inventing one? Does it open Probe 4 with a question or a single first step, not a lecture? Any "no" is an instruction to tighten β€” bring those to Activity 3.
